# Managing workspace settings and integrations

Configure users, roles, reporting periods, tracking, taxonomy, fees, transactions, workflow stages, and integrations.

Workspace settings define the rules everyone plans against. Set them up in a practical order: users and roles, reporting periods, taxonomy, fees, transaction types, workflows, and then integrations. Taxonomy and fees affect future plans, so make these decisions before planners start building placements.

## Workspace administration

Open "Workspace Admin" from your workspace.

## User and access control

Go to "Users" and click the invite user button. Add admins, members, and clients with the roles they need for the work they should be able to see or change.

After you enter the user information, click "Send invitation." The user will receive an email invitation to join the workspace.

Open "Permissions" to define what each role can do. Permissions control which actions and views are available to users in the workspace.

Review the access levels for each role and module, then click "Save Changes" when the permissions match how your team should work.

## Reporting and tracking

If your reporting integration is already connected, open "Reports" and click "Add Report." If it is not connected yet, complete the Integrations section first, then return here to add reports.

Reports can be managed by workspace admins, including the report name, availability, and any parameters your workspace uses to organize reporting views.

Create standard reporting periods by clicking the "Create Report Period" button.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 7](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-07.jpeg)

Enter the start and end date for the period, then click "Create Period." These reporting periods help the team review performance against consistent time windows.

To enable tracking and analytics, open "Tracking" and click "Add Domain." After the domain is set up, click "Enable Analytics."

## Platform configuration

Create channels for the media environments your team plans against. A channel might be a broad category like Paid Social or a more specific platform such as Meta, Google Ads, or a DSP, depending on how your workspace needs to report and manage spend.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 10](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-10.jpeg)

Complete the channel form and choose the formats that are eligible for that channel, then click "Create Channel."

> **Alert:** Formats must exist before you can mark them eligible for a channel. You can create formats first, or create the channel now and return later to add eligible formats.

Create objectives for the outcomes your placements are meant to support. Objectives can match platform objectives, broader campaign goals, or a mix of both when that helps stakeholders understand the plan.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 13](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-13.jpeg)

Create formats to describe the kind of media being planned, such as video, static image, paid search, carousel, or CTV. Formats appear on media plans and placements so the team can filter and review the plan clearly.

If your team tracks optimization work in Nebula, create task categories that match the actions you assign across placements, such as budget shifts, bid changes, audience updates, or creative swaps.

## Financial and system configuration

Create fees when placements need additional cost layers, such as management fees, platform fees, production fees, or other percentage-based costs. Choose the channels the fee should apply to, then click "Create Fee." New media plans will use the applicable default fees going forward.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 16](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-16.jpeg)

> **Tip:** Fees can change over time. To keep history accurate, create a new fee for the updated rate instead of overwriting the old one. For example, if an influencer rate changes from 4% to 5% in the new year, create the new fee so earlier flight dates can keep the previous rate.

> **Alert:** Fees are applied to placements based on their channel. Multiple percentage fees stack additively, and default fees are copied to new media plans when they are created.

Create transaction types when your workspace needs to reconcile media dollars alongside planned and actual spend.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 17](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-17.jpeg)

For each transaction type, choose whether it increases or decreases the balance. You can also require supporting files, such as invoices or receipts, before users can save that transaction. Click "Create Transaction Type" when the form is complete.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 18](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-18.jpeg)

Open "Workflow" to customize how creative, media plans, and placements move through review.

![Managing workspace settings and integrations screenshot 19](https://planitnebula.io/assets/help/media/workspace-settings-integrations-19.jpeg)

Review the recommended stages, then edit, delete, or reorder them to match your team’s process. Confirm each stage’s settings and which stages it can move to next before planners rely on the workflow.

> **Tip:** Use the template as a starting point, then simplify or add detail based on your team’s approval requirements and the roles involved.

## Integrations

Open "Integrations" to connect the third-party systems your workspace needs. Choose the integration, then follow the linked setup instructions for that provider.
